Just 4 weeks today till we go back to the caravan, that thought is really buoying me up right now. Husband keeps muttering 'hmmm, depends on the weather'. Which is nonsense really - well, unless we are deep in snow drifts! I doubt we'll be doing any garden work when we initially go back, we'll be concentrating on the indoor stuff first, and we won't be staying there overnight until the old sofa is out, the making good works done and the new furniture is in....so it doesn't matter much what the weather is like. Now we have a bigger car again, which has loads of room in the back due to it having the same chassis as the vans they make, we can take all the old sofa cushions and associated parts to the tip ourselves, rather than having to hire the 'man and van' again. Shaun, the man with the van, was very friendly, obliging and helpful last year when we were doing the van up, but we'll be saving around £100 by taking the stuff to the tip ourselves, just the fuel cost - and the tip isn't very far away so not much in fuel.
I'm doing a few rows of crochet every day now, I'm nearly halfway through one of the throws for the caravan and about 3/4 through the other. I'm hoping to get them both finished by the time we go back, they'll look lovely on the beds.
It's so nice to have something to look forward to, my head is full of plans.
So excited for you…I feel like I am counting with you.
ReplyDeleteAww bless you Brenda, you've been a good supporter.
DeleteFour weeks will fly by. The days will be longer, the weather (hopefully) milder and all your plans will be able to come to fruition. Excited for you. xx
ReplyDeleteYes, not long at all now, K. I love that my readers are (almost) as excited as me!
DeleteI am glad you are so happy and it is pouring out in our direction and who couldn't use a little happy . !!!!!
DeleteI think we need to have hopes and things to look forward to. I bought a few Christmas gifts with an eye to summer. Sometimes even if the weather is bad, just being in a different environment than day to day with a mug of coffee and a good book is enough of a respite.
ReplyDeleteYes, somehow it's a different environment altogether at the caravan. I don't seem to feel the same amount of responsibilities there, it's so relaxing.
DeleteIt will be brilliant to get back there. I really miss my Van it's just a completely different way of living isn't it. I do have a little plan on my mind for our flat in Wales though, I just need the tenant to move out!!
ReplyDeleteIt is Sue, it's so different, so much more relaxed. Ooh a little plan....have you given the tenant notice or are you just waiting for them to leave of their own accord?
DeleteIt is so good to have something to look forward to. The time will fly by and you will soon be back at the van.
ReplyDeleteIt must be very reassuing, doing the crochet and anticipating how it will look in the caravan.
ReplyDeleteI would be ready to stay there a night or two by myself even before anything else gets done.;)
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! I can't wait to get out camping again but it will be a while for us. I like just being able to get away.
ReplyDeleteThat has gone quickly. Something to look forward to. Xx
ReplyDeleteVery, very exciting. How lovely. xx
ReplyDeleteDo you have a Berlingo now? I have had 2 of them over the last 12 years and they are such adaptable cars. I've moved house several times, only needing a man and van for the cooker and fridge freezer; I take stuff to the tip for myself and other family members; many camping trips carrying all the camping gear, tent, big dog and now, in it's latest transformation, I have rigged it out as a micro camper. Can't beat a Berlingo!
