Thank you for the comments, it's much appreciated. Wouldn't it be lovely if we did all live close to one another and could meet up for coffee?
Husband was ok yesterday, mainly due to our cleaner being here, he's always chatty and cheerful when people are here. He did start shouting at the dog again in the evening, she seems to come to life and want to play in the evenings, which is a bit unfortunate as we're tired and just want to relax by then. I said we should try playing with her or doing things to tire her out in the afternoon, perhaps she'll be more inclined to relax come the evening then.
I've just ordered something to make my life a bit easier - a new fridge! I'm finding it harder to put things away and get them out of our present fridge, which is a normal under the counter height one - it's just too low and hurts my back and hips. The one I've ordered is about a foot taller, so medium height - I need to have my Ninja multicooker on top of it so I can't have a really tall one. And the salad drawer in the new one is up a bit higher than my present one, which is almost at ground level - very difficult to get stuff out of unless I sit on a low stool. It's coming the week after next, which was the earliest date with free delivery.
I've also ordered some DK yarn from Wool Warehouse, to make myself a summer cardigan. I've got lightweight cardis in white, grey and black but wanted a navy and white one. The chunky warm purple one I'm making for winter is coming along well, I'm about halfway through the back now. When the new yarn arrives I'll put the winter one aside (I don't need it for several months yet anyhow) and start on the summer one. Although I've always crocheted since my early teens, I have to be in the mood for it, which I hadn't been for quite some time. But I am now (probably to do with the wet cold weather), so hopefully I'll get the summer cardi done quite quickly. Although, having said that, it looks like we're going to be having a mini heatwave by the end of this week!
Oh, yes, a girlie coffee date! Not quite the same if we had a virtual one, is it?
ReplyDeleteI'm all for making life easier, especially as I get older and creakier. The new fridge sounds like it will be much easier for you to use.
I'm currently knitting an aran type sweater using the yarn from a HUGE hand knitted jumper I bought from the charity shop. Trouble is, my hands are playing up. Arthritis and trigger finger, for which I had a steroid injection last year, but has come back again. Another injection booked for June. It does mean I can only knit for a few minutes at a time, though. Oh, old age isn't for the faint-hearted! xx
What skill I admire when you can crochet your own sweaters. I bet they're gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteOh I would love to meet up with all my blogging friends for coffee or tea. What a wonderful thing to purchase, having a taller fridge should make things much easier for you.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Same here Sooze… I have just completed a massive declutter. I also looked at how I manage chores etc. and changed my routine. Like you I have been buying things to make life easier, paying for them from our “rainy day” savings. This is my rainy day. If I’m to manage the house, garden and husband I needed to do this to keep myself well mentally and physically. The garden looks so pretty, you have worked so hard both of you. We just need some sun to sit and enjoy it. 🤣 June
