I got the cartridge changed on the printer yesterday, it was easy actually (once I'd worked out where in the printer insides it actually was!). However, I still can't get it recognised by my laptop or phone - the theory I had didn't work. Well, what do I know, I'm just a stupid old woman. Jane's idea of buying a lead with ends that will fit in the printer and my laptop is a good one, provided I'm able to get hold of one.
I can't do some jobs in the garden without sitting down - I cannot kneel at all (excruciating pain in my knees if I do, back and hip trouble and then I have problems getting up) so used my heavy duty solid plastic kneeler/seat a lot. At least I used to.....I've now discovered just this morning that husband also left that behind at the old house, along with my round tub with handles that I used for prunings, and some of my own gardening tools. And yes Angie, I am infuriated, especially as I had absolutely no idea he'd done it and he never told me. I know why he did - he just got totally overwhelmed at the sheer scale of the vast amount of STUFF he'd hoarded in the garage and shed, and didn't know how to even start clearing it, so he mostly just abandoned it altogether, and then compounded it by telling neighbours they could have it all. To be honest, I felt much the same way about everything I had to do in the month before we moved, especially as I had to do it all entirely by myself - but I got on and did it, I had no choice. If only husband had told me! Still, what's done is done, there's absolutely nothing I can do about it now, so I have to let it go. What annoys me the most though is that it's now hampering and delaying me as we simply don't have the tools and things I need to do some of the things in the garden, and at this moment in time we cannot afford to go out and replace it all. I was supposed to be saving up for bedroom carpets and vertical blinds, but now we need some of the gardening stuff as well, so I've got to work out where our priorities lie and the rest will have to wait even longer. I feel like just giving up and howling my eyes out - but that's not me. Well, I might well howl....at the moment I'm too infuriated to cry.....but then I'll pick myself up and get on with things, I always do.
Thanks everyone for the support, it does mean a lot. I WILL be positive and get things done again, it's just that at the moment I feel like I'm being thwarted at every turn.
Oh, Sooze! I wonder if any of your new neighbours have any tools etc you could borrow? If you know any of them well enough, might be worth asking. What a shame about the printer. Have you googled how to do it? Sometimes there are videos. I'm sure you'll get it sorted, but maybe wait until your blood's stopped boiling! xx
ReplyDeleteWouldn't a tool library be handy at times like this. People could borrow them for a few days for a small fee. Things like lawn mowers take up a lot of space and the little patch of grass that I have hardly makes it worth it.
ReplyDeleteA trip to B&M for some new ones, think positive how nice it will be with shiny new tools.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame your tools were left behind on purpose, I'd be boiling too. Maybe have a look on your local FB wanted/unwanted page, or once car boot season starts you might find some there. I'm really pleased all my bulbs have started popping through, hope you find some lovely plants in your new garden. Xx
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, frustrating doesn't begin to describe it does it! I'd be spitting tacks, too! You have my sympathy...
ReplyDeleteSo sorry that the items you need were left behind by your Hubby. I would be so stinking angry. Hopefully you can at least do a bit of gardening.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
ReplyDeleteDo you think that your property manager (I can't remember her job title) will be able to help with the printing? If you email her the docs she can run them off maybe?
I hardly ever comment on blogs, but when we downsized almost 10 years ago Dh packed 1 box, used up half the packing tape, and was so proud of the job he did. The books he packed hadn't been read, and when I tossed them out 5 years ago were still unread. DH has memory issues, and after several conversations with youngest daughter,(a retirement village manager), and the one who will handle things if I go first, I am now throwing away things that DH doesn't know we have. He keeps many items "just in case", but they actually will never be needed.
ReplyDeleteI would like it to be different but I am getting overwhelmed with his needs as opposed to my self care. Sooze, you really need to look after yourself first, I know it's extremely difficult with out support. l'm really lucky to have a daughter that understands, and is going to put me in touch with people who can help.
I'd be absolutely furious, Sooze. Livid. Hopefully, you can get some nice, shiny, new stuff instead.
ReplyDeleteAs Meg says - be kind to yourself. xx
