I had the worst night in ages last night, was awake tossing and turning, even reclining in the new chair didn't work. Not sure why I couldn't sleep, nothing particular on my mind - well, other than usual worries. My back and shoulder muscles are being very slow to recover after all the furniture shifting, and all the financial stuff to do with my upcoming state pension and loss of carers allowance seems to have drained my mental capabilities. I think I just need a holiday! Not that I'll be getting one anytime soon - we wouldn't go away during school holidays anyway.
Consequently I feel like death warmed up today. Only got washing to sort and a small top up shop of fresh stuff to get, any other jobs can wait till tomorrow.
I hope those of you up north survived relatively unscathed. Weather is certainly crazy nowadays.
Perhaps a nice relaxing day would do you the world of good. The wind caused a bit of garden damage but we were ready for a few changes
ReplyDeleteNo damage here thank goodness, just lots of things blown over, but left lying down until the worst of the wind was over last night. I have to remember to get my watering can out of the paper recycling bin, it was blowing around no matter where I tried pinning it, even half full.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you need a couple of days of really light activity to keep you moving so you don't seize up but nothing strenuous at all. We ARE going on holiday during the school holidays but to a Warner Leisure Hotel ... they are adults only. :-)
Snap Sooze! I was the same as you, lay for nearly an hour and a half before I thought sod this and got up, Made myself a cup of tea and read a magazine until 3.30 when I went back to bed. Feeling like a wet rag at the moment, not a lot going to get done today methinks.
ReplyDeleteI have many nights when I can't sleep. I can be tired but my mind just won't settle down. I now know to stay up until my eyelids are drooping, then (hopefully) I'll get to sleep. If you can't get away for a little break, have one at home. No housework other than washing up after a meal, easy meals, maybe send out for a takeaway if there's somewhere you can get a delivery, read, doze, do whatever you want. Definitely NOTHING that requires muscle or brain power (if at all possible). And don't feel guilty - the chores will still be there for you when you're ready!
ReplyDeleteIt's been windy here and it rained heavily for about 3 minutes, but other than that, no sign of a storm. xx
Those sorts of nights are the pits, aren't they! They always make me really irritable and witchy (not in a good way 😉) the next day. Nothing for it really but to give yourself a free pass today to do very little. Maybe lose yourself in a really engaging book?
ReplyDeleteI’ve had a few bad nights recently because of the heat. We had some damage to the plants with the wind and our front garden seems to have lots of tree bits from the school across the road. Take care. Catriona
ReplyDeleteI really hate those types of nights. I hope you manage to get a good nights sleep tonight. Keep resting the back and shoulder muscles as much as you possibly can.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
