Necessary but painful

HH, that hummus of yours sounds good, I'd never thought of using butterbeans, although I do make butterbean mash occasionally.  I guess the hummus is just a looser version of that, I'll give it a try next time I buy some tins.  I suppose we could make a kind of hummus (or spread) using any kind of cooked beans really - and some imagination!

I had my shoulder x-ray this morning, they took 5 images from different angles, including one where I had to sit down and lean sideways with my arm and shoulder stretched out as far as they would go across the plate which was on a table, at the same time I had to press my chin onto my chest with my head leaning towards the opposite side from my shoulder.  Although the radiographer was lovely and very gentle, all this manipulation of my sore and stiff shoulder and arm into positions they don't normally go was very uncomfortable.  Now it hurts like hell and I've just had to take some co-codamol.  I might get husband to do the veggies for dinner, peeling and chopping will be painful probably.

I haven't yet put my new dahlia tubers in pots, or redone the LPA forms online, it won't be today.  Too painful to do the potting up and the LPA I know I'm prevaricating about.....it's not really that difficult, especially since I've got the returned forms to refer to, it's just the thought of having to do all those pages again.  I'll do it tomorrow - promise!

Heavy rain early this morning but it had stopped by the time we went out at 9 am.  Sunshine and blue sky now.  Mixed weather for the rest of the week but another heatwave, albeit not as blisteringly hot as the last one, forecast from Saturday onwards!  Bring it on!

  1. Forgot to say I also put a bit of Marmite in it, too. But it's nice without, if you're not a fan. I love Marmite!
Reading the contortions you had to go through made me wonder if she/he asked you to pat your head and rub your tummy at the same time. 🤣 Sorry, the thought made me laugh, although I know it's not at all funny. I just hope the x-rays show what's wrong, and more importantly, what can be done. I don't blame you for not doing the potting up or the LPA. I think you've had enough for one day! xx

  2. Being contorted into positions when you've got joint problems is very painful. I always struggle having a mammogram because of the arthritis in my spine. I hope its easing now. Xx
