I need that chair now

This morning we've moved 3 armchairs around, in preparation for the new recliner coming.  Having already shifted some furniture in my bedroom, to make room for the slightly bigger new chair, it was a case of getting the current chair out and into the lounge.  The Parker Knoll tub chair in the lounge, which I no longer find comfortably supportive for my back, has moved into husband's bedroom - although more than 20 years old, it still looks almost as good as new and is far too nice to throw out.  It's replacing the leather and wood recliner chair he's had in his room, which is worn and quite tatty looking, the leather is stained and cracked.  We've loaded that into the back of the car to take to the tip.  It hasn't got a fire safety label so the charity shop won't take it - it's too old and scruffy looking anyway, it's only fit for the tip.  So now we're both knackered, I think I'll be testing my new comfy chair out as soon as it arrives!

Husband has been wittering on all morning about whether the new chair will fit through either the front or back doors and then into my bedroom, he's even said about taking the doors off.  Well, we've just moved 3 armchairs between rooms and one out the front door with no trouble (other than creaky backs and my fingers getting trapped between one chair and the wall).  And I also pointed out that when we moved here, the removal men got all our furniture, including our big heavy 3-seater leather sofa, inside without taking any doors off.  I'm sure furniture shifters are well practised at getting things moved in or out, husband is worrying for nothing.  (I hope!)

Betty is anxious, she's wondering what's going on, she doesn't like change much (I know how she feels ๐Ÿ˜‚).

Raining today (it would be, on the day the chair is delivered ๐Ÿ™„), only light rain though.  I think our courgettes are coming to an end, we've had loads off them and there's still a final half dozen or so to come.  The rose bush outside my bedroom window that has looked magnificent with lots of beautiful blooms that start off pale pink and change to white, is now covered with a bad case of powdery mildew.  I'll get out there tomorrow and cut out all the affected stems, putting them in a bag to go to the tip.

  1. Hope your new chair arrives and gets through the doorway without a hitch.

  2. Oooh, exciting! I'm sure there'll be no problem getting your chair into place. You'll be relaxing in it before long - after Betty has checked it out, of course! xx

  3. My goodness, you were very busy moving furniture around. I hope that your chair arrived between showers.

    God bless.
