I woke up in the night feeling cold, so had to get up and put another fleece blanket on the bed. Betty wasn't on my bed which was probably why I felt cold, she'd got off sometime earlier and went to her own bed in the lounge. Ironically, as soon as I'd put the fleece on and got back in bed, she came in and jumped back on the bed. So this afternoon I'll change my bed and put the 4.5 tog quilt on, it's most definitely autumnal now.
I'm not going on the shopping bus to Bridgwater today, I've got nothing to get there. I will need to go next week though, I'll need more books from the charity shop by then, and a new pair of slippers from the shoe shop, it's time to put my summer flip flops away, my toes are feeling chilly.
Today we're off to Taunton to the big Proper Job there (DIY, garden and homeware shop) so I can look for grit, gravel and/or slate for my new rockery. I'll also pop into Aldi, which is close by, for another small top up shop.
It'll soon be soup weather, which is good as I've got so much of our homegrown veg in the freezer just waiting to be turned into soup. I might start making bread again, can't have soup without some nice wholemeal seedy bread.
Home made bread and home made soup sounds wonderful, think we'll be doing the same.
