Husband's just rung me from the garage to say the car has failed the MOT 😭😭 - a broken coil spring (whatever that is). So the holiday is now in doubt - depends how much the work is going to cost, and when they can do it. Bugger it. I just had a feeling this was going to happen.
Such a shame, I hope you can still have a holiday.
ReplyDeleteOh, no! I hope it's just a cheap fix. 🤞🤞🤞 xx
ReplyDeleteIt's maddening isn't it! I feel your anger. I don't think a coil spring would be too much, however labour costs are high. Our recent clutch was 850 followed by a new starter motor at 180. Annoying as it passed its MOT just a month ago. Can't moan though as it's 19yrs old and is a true work horse. I hope yours is much cheaper to mend.
ReplyDeleteIf it's front coil, more expensive than back. But £200-300 either way. One of those things on older cars plus if your hubs hits the kerbs or pot holes a lot ..... It's a good sign to get rid of the car though, when one spring goes, the others aren't usually far behind. We always took that as a sign to switch cars. The decusion to go car less is good timing.
