Feeling knackered

Thank you for comments....Marlene, yes I'm guessing it is what used to be Steart flats, having only lived here 7 years we've only known it as Steart Marshes, the WWT have done a fantastic job of creating a lovely wildlife haven.  You'll have to go and have a wander round next time you come to visit your brother.

It was so lovely to have my feet done yesterday, Grace my chiropodist was fully PPE'd up with gloves and mask (she always wears those anyway) plus apron and plastic visor, I wore a mask too.  She asked if I minded if she took off the visor (I didn't mind at all) as it was making her sweat and steaming her glasses up.  I really don't know how nurses can wear all that lot all day, and especially in this heat, just that makes me admire them so much, never mind what they're doing for us in caring for us and those we love.

I think the heat was getting to Betty yesterday, she was listless and unsettled all day and was sick a couple of times in the evening....she was ok through the night though (I came downstairs twice to check on her) and seems fine this morning, back to her usual self.  It's forecast to be cooler with some showers from tomorrow, which will be welcome.

We're having a relaxing day doing nothing much - we had a very busy day yesterday, rearranging the entire lounge (not really a sensible thing to do in the heat!) and were both shattered come the evening.  Husband's strained a muscle in his shoulder so he needs to rest it anyway, and my back is killing me.  I think all the upheaval probably contributed to Betty feeling unsettled too, so a quiet day for all of us.

  1. It sounds as if a quiet day is much needed after all that. I hope the back and the shoulder both right themselves today.

I think you must have had much more heat than we have had here. It's just been warm and really pleasant with not a hint of humidity - lucky us, I guess.

    Take care.

  2. This probably sounds like a silly question Sooze - but does she have a paddling pool to play in? Some dogs love them, cools them off a treat.

    1. Not a silly question at all, Cathy. No, Betty doesn't like water much, she runs away from waves on the beach! We have tried her with a paddling pool but she wouldn't even put her paws in, whereas the spaniel 2 doors down from us actually lies down in hers. We do have a cool mat for her, and she likes crunching on ice cubes.

  4. That's the trouble with nice weather, we all tend to do too much and forget that we're not as young as we once were! Have a restful day today. xx

  5. Yes I think I will have to speak to my brother and visit it again, changing the name to marsh's sound much better. I am shattered by tea time each day but that's the heat, I do enjoy resting and reading each evening. I did the inside of my greenhouse in the heat, we are mad.

    1. Hazel, my chiropodist was told by her professional trade association that they were now allowed to work again, as per Government guidelines and with safety precautions in place. I'm so glad she was.

  7. The heat is too much for me so I have left all the indoor jobs for when the weather is cooler. I have quite a list of things to do indoors. I bet it was bliss having your feet done.

  9. Hi hun, I would love to have a chirpoodist, especially as I have really dry skin. If you don't mind me asking - if you do please ignore the questions. What made you goto one? I would feel embarrassed at anyone seeing my dry feet.I am also not able to go out (even when not on lockdown) do they do home visits?*hugs* Goldensunflowerx
