Sorry for the lack of posts, had a very busy week with some very stressful admin stuff going on, which has really knocked the stuffing out of me. Severe, even worse than normal, lack of sleep hasn't helped matters....I feel like I could happily stay in bed and sleep, just sleep, for a month. (Seeing as I can't even stay asleep for more than about 2 hours max at a time, that ain't gonna happen).
Normal service will be resumed within the next few days, hopefully.
One bright thing....I bought myself a bunch of spray carnations along with the shopping about 10 days ago. Sitting here looking at them now, they still look as fresh and new as if I bought them just yesterday. Carnations last SO long and are such good value, £3 well spent. And the bonus being they smell nice, unlike most commercial grown shop bought roses, which have no smell at all.
((((hugs))))
ReplyDeleteI didn't have much to do with admin after Mum died because Dad had it all well in hand, being a superb organiser, but I can't imagine it's easy, especially if there are complications so I'm hoping that things get back on an even keel quickly.
Tha carnations sound lovely and to have scent too is, as you say, definitely a bonus.
xx
Hopefully, once your admin stuff is getting close to an end, your sleep will improve, Sooze. Spray carnations are quite easy to root. My mum just takes a cutting and keeps it in water. It would be nice it yours could root, as they have a lovely scent :)
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear you're not sleeping well. Lack of sleep does make you feel crap. Try to take short naps when you can, even if it's just for a few minutes. Carnations are my favourite flower, I love the scent and the frilly petals. Sending a hug your way. xx
ReplyDeleteHopefully all the admin will eventually be done with and you can get some proper restful sleep. I love carnations as they are so bright and long lasting. Be gentle with yourself and rest as much as you can.
ReplyDeleteIf you can, take a few minutes during the day to just sit quietly, close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. One way I found of dealing with difficult things after my fathers death was to keep the mantra “this too will pass” in my head. Slowly things began to improve again and you can start to find pleasure in little things. I hope that doesn’t sound too ‘new agey’
ReplyDeleteI have a few border pinks and carnations in my new garden and they smell wonderful but I am always disappointed with shop bought flowers so enjoy your fragrant carnations.
Have a restful and peaceful weekend.
I don't remember the last time I had carnations with perfume. Enjoy them while you can.
ReplyDeleteI have been very remiss in blog reading recently though I have caught up with yours, at last.
Sending hugs, as usual! XOXO
Glad you got the carnations, would make me happier and smell so good.Hugs to you.
ReplyDeleteI really don't understand why Carnations get such bad press, they are beautiful flowers and come in such a wonderful choice of colours. But I do like the primrose yellow ones and the simple white best. A bunch of flowers for just £3 that lift the spirit day after day is money very well spent.
