He says he's staying in bed today (I bet he doesn't) to catch up on some sleep. Every time he's awake and up during the night, so am I (he's a very noisy patient), and I always get up a couple of hours before him in the mornings. I suppose I'll catch up on my sleep eventually. He reckons he doesn't actually feel ill, apart from a bit of a rumbly stomach and feeling cold.
At least it means I have a day off cooking. There's homemade soup if he feels like eating something later. I can just have my usual easy comfort foods - cereal and cheese on toast, yum!
I can also have a day without the bloody TV on all the time, and get on with my crocheting in peace. Here's what I've done so far (well actually, I've done another couple of rows since then):-
I wasn't keen on the greens, but the other colours are gorgeous, Lucy's got a fabulous eye for colour and they're all definitely Sweet pea colours.
Sorry to hear your husband is unwell (just caught up with blog reading), your husband sounds rather like mine always acting like all is well when its not, mine has a nasty hernia and has been house bound for the last two weeks and has to wait until March before he has an appointment at the hospital, and he is not one for sitting around so I think he will go stir crazy. Same problem here with the hot flushes Sue, mine have been really bad lately, hardly getting any sleep. I can't crochet or knit, your work is beautiful. Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteOh no Marlene, hernias are painful, husband's had two. March is a long time to have to wait!
DeleteThat's rotten for you both. It sounds like a very nasty bug and I hope it decided to up stcks and leave quickly.
ReplyDeleteI agree, those colours are really lovely although the greens don't seem to tone in well - the change from green to blue is a bit sudden. Lovely even crocheting too.
xx
Thank you Joy, I think Lucy's chosen the greens to represent the colours of the sweet pea stems. Green, of any shade, is not one of my favourite colours really, but I do love the others, they're so representative of sweet peas.
DeleteI giggled at your bed hot flushes, same happening here, my feet are always out of the bed, and the covers go on and off all night long. Enjoy your day. Love your crochet.
ReplyDeleteLol Marlene, it's blooming annoying isn't it?!
DeleteI hope that Hubby recovers soon, if only for your sanity. I struggle with placing greens in my crochet, I often swap them out for different shades of green or sometimes Mushroom. There are some in Fran's blanket but none from the pack. I used some from stash and will use the others in a different project. I am contemplating making a blanket in my left over sock yarn, I will leave it till the new year though.
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling for you knowing what its like when your hubby is always ill with something. Maybe he's got one of these B super bugs, at least it will be out of the way by Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI looked at lucy's yarn pack and am debating wether to get it or not. Like you, I think she's got a good eye for colours. What does the yarn feel like to work with, is it soft?
On the subject of the bed dilemma, have you got a spare bed somewhere. We sleep apart now and both of us get a good nights sleep that way.

I hope the patient bounces back soon and that he isn't too troublesome for you in the meantime! Cheese on toast is my go to comfort food, I think, it hits the spot every time. Your crochet is beautiful. x
ReplyDeleteLove the colors!is it single crochet and no zigzag pattern etc
ReplyDeleteMaybe sleep in another room while he is ill!! Just a thought! You need your strength to care for him!
I am sorry to hear that S is suffering and, by default, you too. I'd sleep in one of your other rooms, for my sanity!
ReplyDeleteI like your new blanket but the green really jars on my sight. The other colours are pretty though. Have fun with it. XOXO
Same here regarding the bedding and the relief when the tv goes off. I often wonder if men actually realise that there is an off button!
