Autopilot

Thank you so much for all the comments and emails, it helps more than you know.

If we could just get the car situation sorted, we'd both feel so much better.  At the moment we're getting nowhere.  And that's all I'm saying about it.

We're off to the caravan again on Friday, no firm plans for when we'll come back.  I know several other van neighbours are planning on being there, so it'll be quite a reunion I should think.  And the weather is forecast to be much better.

On a good note, my knee is (fingers crossed and touch wood) not so painful now, I've not worn the support brace thing for 2 days and the knee hasn't collapsed once.  So maybe it was ligament, tendon or muscle damage and is now hopefully getting better.

I'm spending a couple of days doing some more batch cooking and baking before we go to the caravan, yesterday I made 3 fish pies, all now frozen.  Also got dog food to do today.

Physically I'm fine, albeit suffering greatly from lack of sleep, but I do feel very flat and emotionless right now, as if I'm operating on autopilot.  I'm sure I'll pick up once we're back at the caravan.  Thank you all once again, it's so nice to have people get in touch who actually care.

  1. I just caught up with the last 2 posts and I'm so sorry to hear you are feeling so down Sooze. Life still feels so very stressful at the moment so 'escaping' to the caravan should certainly help you. May I suggest you don't watch any news on TV for a while. I have to curtail my news watching or I can't sleep for worrying about it all. Do take time to heal yourself and know that we all Do care about your wellbeing. I look forward to reading about your caravan adventures at some point too 👍 sending hugs 🤗 x

  3. I'm glad you're feeling a little better. At least your knee seems to be improving, which has got to help. A few days at the caravan will certainly help. Relaxing, chatting to neighbours and (hopefully) catching up on some restful sleep. You couldn't sneak me in there could you? Lol! xx

  4. I'm glad your knee is improving a bit, these things take a long time to heal and I think we are all a bit impatient with ourselves aren't we ... I know I am for sure!!

  7. That caravan is a Godsend. To be able to have a complete change of scenery, enjoy the company of friends, relax in the fresh air and sunshine - and know that you have prepared all those lovely meals so that you don't need to cook or buy meals out. Turn off any calls that are stressful and look after YOU. I hope you can stay for the whole week - we are all enjoying our holiday at the caravan, through your experiences. Please keep blogging and telling us of the Caravan adventures. Love - Rosemary x (Rambler)

  8. Autopilot = yes, that is a perfect description.

I cannot change the economic catastrophe we are falling into, I cannot stop Putin, so I just keep going in my own tiny bubble. Trying not to think too much, avoiding the TV but knowing I cannot ignore everything.

Great news about your knee but do not rush things, my experience is that (older) knees can take a year or more to heal.

  9. I have no actual problems to deal with right now and have days I need to just go on auto pilot. For me it's other people's issues and feeling I can't help. Maybe the brace helped stabilize while your knee made progress healing.
