Yay!

Kitchen man came mid-morning, and I'm pleased to say husband more or less behaved himself - for a change, although there were a couple of disagreements.  And Jane, you're right, the guy looked to me for every suggestion or choice and checked I was happy with everything.  We're having oak-style cabinets and flooring, black granite-style (not granite obviously) worktops and white wall tiles.  We're also getting one extra base cupboard and an extra double wall cupboard, so there'll be even more storage space - hooray, I'm very happy about that.

We now have to wait for the Housing Association to send a surveyor to measure up and discuss plumbing and electrical sockets, and then we'll be given a date for the installation - the guy yesterday said the installation will take a week, plus decorating.  I'm really pleased about it all.

As for the election results and the new Government.....well, we'll just have to wait and see whether they do actually follow through with all their promises.

The new remote control arrived in the post the other day, so all's well with the TV now, although the caravan TV is still to be sorted, husband needs a different cable to find out if the Freesat box will work there.  I've told him to go into a shop to get one, rather than ordering another one off the internet when he doesn't really know what it is he wants (he ordered one without consulting me, it arrived a day later and it was the wrong one ๐Ÿ˜’).

Chucked it down with rain during the night and still raining quite hard now, so no boot sale today.  It's forecast to rain up till lunchtime, so even if it stops by the start time (2 pm), the field will be very soggy.  I won't be putting my planned washing on either.  Hope summer comes back soon, it was blimmin cold yesterday.

  1. Oh, your kitchen is going to be lovely and just what you wanted. I hope they can fit it soon. Once the decision is made, you just want to get on with it. Well I do, at least. Patience is NOT my middle name! xx

  2. It's chucking it here too - well, it has been although it seems to be easier at the moment. Not nice at all.
Your new kitchen is going to be absolutely lovely. Please do take some photos when it's all done. Extra storage is the icing on the cake too. Everyone's dream. xx

  3. I am so looking forward to seeing your new kitchen. My kitchen is 6'6' square and has a door at either end and two windows. I would LOVE to be able to haggle over where the units would go. lol It has taken us 30 years to finally get the best layout. We have optimised the storage space by having double wall units on the one free wall. They reach all the way up to the ceiling but double the storage space for things not used very often.

  5. I'm so glad the visit went well! Your choices sound great - a clean and classic look that you'll never get tired of. Rain is non-stop here, I'm putting off walking to the library in the hopes it clears up after lunch...
